One piece is a continuing anime series from 1999 written by Eichiro Oda.  He started writing one piece to get some income but his creativity and talent of attracting people towards his story made him a massive hit. It is a story of rubber boy living in a world 3 times the size of our earth and covered in 80% water. In this world there were things called devil fruits which were fruits that gave power to people who are it.  In this story luffy (the rubber boy) sets on a journey to become the pirate king on this journey he goes to many different islands and meets different people. Most of the islands he goes to, the people over there suffer different problems like racism, slavery, sexual harrasment, etc. He saves these people. He's called a saviour by the people he saved and a monster by people who never met him. The more people he saved the more he becomes the enemy to The world government.
